[1] Ἐν δὲ ταῖς ἡμέραις ταύταις πληθυνόντων τῶν μαθητῶν ἐγένετο γογγυσμὸς τῶν Ἑλληνιστῶν πρὸς τοὺς Ἑβραίους ὅτι παρεθεωροῦντο ἐν τῇ διακονίᾳ τῇ καθημερινῇ αἱ χῆραι αὐτῶν.
[1] Trong lúc đó, bởi số môn đồ càng thêm lên, nên người Hê-lê-nít phàn nàn nghịch cùng người Hê-bơ-rơ, vì những người góa bụa của họ đã bị bỏ bê trong sự cấp phát hằng ngày.
[1] Now in those days, when the disciples were growing in number, a complaint arose on the part of the Greek-speaking Jews against the native Hebraic Jews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.
[2] προσκαλεσάμενοι δὲ οἱ δώδεκα τὸ πλῆθος τῶν μαθητῶν εἶπαν · Οὐκ ἀρεστόν ἐστιν ἡμᾶς καταλείψαντας τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ διακονεῖν τραπέζαις·
[2] Mười hai sứ đồ bèn gọi hết thảy môn đồ nhóm lại, mà nói rằng: Bỏ sự dạy đạo Ðức Chúa Trời mà giúp việc bàn tiệc thật chẳng xứng hợp.
[2] So the twelve called the whole group of the disciples together and said, “It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to wait on tables.
[3] ἐπισκέψασθε δέ, ἀδελφοί, ἄνδρας ἐξ ὑμῶν μαρτυρουμένους ἑπτὰ πλήρεις πνεύματος καὶ σοφίας, οὓς καταστήσομεν ἐπὶ τῆς χρείας ταύτης·
[3] Vậy, anh em hãy chọn trong bọn mình bảy người có danh tốt, đầy dẫy Ðức Thánh Linh và trí khôn, rồi chúng ta sẽ giao việc nầy cho.
[3] But carefully select from among you, brothers, seven men who are well-attested, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this necessary task.
[4] ἡμεῖς δὲ τῇ προσευχῇ καὶ τῇ διακονίᾳ τοῦ λόγου προσκαρτερήσομεν.
[4] Còn chúng ta sẽ cứ chuyên lo về sự cầu nguyện và chức vụ giảng đạo.
[4] But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
[5] καὶ ἤρεσεν ὁ λόγος ἐνώπιον παντὸς τοῦ πλήθους, καὶ ἐξελέξαντο Στέφανον, ἄνδρα πλήρης πίστεως καὶ πνεύματος ἁγίου, καὶ Φίλιππον καὶ Πρόχορον καὶ Νικάνορα καὶ Τίμωνα καὶ Παρμενᾶν καὶ Νικόλαον προσήλυτον Ἀντιοχέα,
[5] Cả hội đều lấy lời đó làm đẹp lòng, bèn cử Ê-tiên, là người đầy đức tin và Ðức Thánh Linh, Phi-líp, Bô-cô-rơ, Ni-ca-no, Ti-môn, Ba-mê-na và Ni-cô-la, là người An-ti-ốt mới theo đạo Giu-đa;
[5] The proposal pleased the entire group, so they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, with Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a Gentile convert to Judaism from Antioch.
[6] οὓς ἔστησαν ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀποστόλων, καὶ προσευξάμενοι ἐπέθηκαν αὐτοῖς τὰς χεῖρας.
[6] và trình bảy người đó cho các sứ đồ; các sứ đồ cầu nguyện rồi, thì đặt tay lên.
[6] They stood these men before the apostles, who prayed and placed their hands on them.
[7] Καὶ ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ ηὔξανεν, καὶ ἐπληθύνετο ὁ ἀριθμὸς τῶν μαθητῶν ἐν Ἰερουσαλὴμ σφόδρα, πολύς τε ὄχλος τῶν ἱερέων ὑπήκουον τῇ πίστει.
[7] Ðạo Ðức Chúa Trời càng ngày càng tràn ra, số môn đồ tại thành Giê-ru-sa-lem thêm lên nhiều lắm. Cũng có rất nhiều thầy tế lễ vâng theo đạo nữa.
[7] The word of God continued to spread, the number of disciples in Jerusalem increased greatly, and a large group of priests became obedient to the faith.
[8] Στέφανος δὲ πλήρης χάριτος καὶ δυνάμεως ἐποίει τέρατα καὶ σημεῖα μεγάλα ἐν τῷ λαῷ.
[8] Ê-tiên được đầy ơn và quyền làm dấu kỳ phép lạ rất lớn trong dân.
[8] Now Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and miraculous signs among the people.
[9] ἀνέστησαν δέ τινες τῶν ἐκ τῆς συναγωγῆς τῆς λεγομένης Λιβερτίνων καὶ Κυρηναίων καὶ Ἀλεξανδρέων καὶ τῶν ἀπὸ Κιλικίας καὶ Ἀσίας συζητοῦντες τῷ Στεφάνῳ,
[9] Nhưng có mấy hội viên của nhà hội gọi là nhà hội của bọn được tự do, với những người quê ở Sy-ren, người quê ở A-léc-xan-đơ, cùng người Giu-đa ở xứ Si-li-si và xứ A-si, nổi lên mà cãi lẫy cùng Ê-tiên.
[9] But some men from the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called), both Cyrenians and Alexandrians, as well as some from Cilicia and the province of Asia, stood up and argued with Stephen.
[10] καὶ οὐκ ἴσχυον ἀντιστῆναι τῇ σοφίᾳ καὶ τῷ πνεύματι ᾧ ἐλάλει.
[10] Song chúng không chống lại nổi với trí khôn người cùng với Ðức Thánh Linh, là Ðấng người nhờ mà nói
[10] Yet they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.
[11] τότε ὑπέβαλον ἄνδρας λέγοντας ὅτι Ἀκηκόαμεν αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ῥήματα βλάσφημα εἰς Μωϋσῆν καὶ τὸν θεόν·
[11] bèn xui xiểm mấy người đặng nói rằng: chúng ta đã nghe người nói ra những lời phạm đến Môi-se và Ðức Chúa Trời.
[11] Then they secretly instigated some men to say, “We have heard this man speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.”
[12] συνεκίνησάν τε τὸν λαὸν καὶ τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους καὶ τοὺς γραμματεῖς, καὶ ἐπιστάντες συνήρπασαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἤγαγον εἰς τὸ συνέδριον,
[12] Chúng xúi dân sự, các trưởng lão và các thầy thông giáo, rồi xông vào người, dùng sức mạnh bắt và điệu đến trước tòa công luận.
[12] They incited the people, the elders, and the experts in the law; then they approached Stephen, seized him, and brought him before the council.
[13] ἔστησάν τε μάρτυρας ψευδεῖς λέγοντας · Ὁ ἄνθρωπος οὗτος οὐ παύεται λαλῶν ῥήματα κατὰ τοῦ τόπου τοῦ ἁγίου καὶ τοῦ νόμου,
[13] Chúng đặt ra những kẻ chứng dối, nói rằng: người nầy hằng nói những lời phạm đến nơi thánh và luật pháp.
[13] They brought forward false witnesses who said, “This man does not stop saying things against this holy place and the law.
[14] ἀκηκόαμεν γὰρ αὐτοῦ λέγοντος ὅτι Ἰησοῦς ὁ Ναζωραῖος οὗτος καταλύσει τὸν τόπον τοῦτον καὶ ἀλλάξει τὰ ἔθη ἃ παρέδωκεν ἡμῖν Μωϋσῆς.
[14] Vì chưng chúng ta đã nghe người nói rằng Jêsus ở Na-xa-rét nầy sẽ phá nơi đây và đổi tục lệ mà Môi-se đã truyền lại cho chúng ta.
[14] For we have heard him saying that Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”
[15] καὶ ἀτενίσαντες εἰς αὐτὸν πάντες οἱ καθεζόμενοι ἐν τῷ συνεδρίῳ εἶδον τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ πρόσωπον ἀγγέλου.
[15] Bấy giờ, phàm những người ngồi tại tòa công luận đều ngó chăm Ê-tiên, thấy mặt người như mặt thiên sứ vậy.
[15] All who were sitting in the council looked intently at Stephen and saw his face was like the face of an angel.
