[1] וַיָּשֶׂם הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשֵׁרֹשׁ מַס עַל־הָאָרֶץ וְאִיֵּי הַיָּם ׃

[2] Các công sự về quyền thế và năng lực người, cả sự cao trọng của Mạc-đô-chê, vua thăng chức người lên làm sao, thảy đều có chép vào sách sử ký các vua nước Mê-đi và Phe-rơ-sơ.
[2] Now all the actions carried out under his authority and his great achievements, along with an exact statement concerning the greatness of Mordecai, whom the king promoted, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Media and Persia?

[3] כִּי מָרְדֳּכַי הַיְּהוּדִי מִשְׁנֶה לַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרוֹשׁ וְגָדוֹל לַיְּהוּדִים וְרָצוּי לְרֹב אֶחָיו דֹּרֵשׁ טוֹב לְעַמּוֹ וְדֹבֵר שָׁלוֹם לְכָל־זַרְעוֹ ׃

[3] Vì Mạc-đô-chê, người Giu-đa, làm tể tướng của vua A-suê-ru; trong vòng dân Giu-đa người được tôn trọng, đẹp lòng các anh em mình, tìm việc tốt lành cho dân tộc mình, và nói sự hòa bình cho cả dòng dõi mình.
[3] Mordecai the Jew was second only to King Ahasuerus. He was the highest-ranking Jew, and he was admired by his numerous relatives. He worked enthusiastically for the good of his people and was an advocate for the welfare of all his descendants.
